Coffee ground to perfection for the perfect brew

Even if you don’t have a clay pot to make this traditional and much loved Mexican staple, we’re certain that you’ll still fall in love with this simple, yet much adored, coffee. Experience a little slice of beautiful Mexico to start off your day. Set your coffee maker aside for this one.

Ingredients:

4 Tbsp of medium to dark roast coffee. (If you can get your hands on some Dark Mexican coffee, use that!)

1/3 cup Panela/Pilocillo (Dark brown sugar)

1/2 to 1 whole cinnamon stick

4 cups of water

 

Directions:

In a sauce pan, add your water, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Simmer until the brown sugar is dissolved.

Once you see your water begin to boil, remove pot from heat and stir in your coffee grounds.

Once your grounds are stirred in, cover your pot and let sit for 5 minutes.

Using a small strainer, pour your coffee into your coffee cup and serve.
