Vegan Mocha

Ingredients:

  • 1 shot of espresso (or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee)
  • 1 cup soy milk (or any plant-based milk)
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or agave nectar
  • Vegan whipped cream (optional)
  • Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Espresso:
    • Brew a shot of espresso or strong coffee and let it cool slightly.
  2. Heat the Milk:
    • In a small saucepan, heat the soy milk until warm but not boiling.
  3. Mix the Mocha Base:
    • In a mug, combine the cocoa powder and maple syrup. Stir to form a smooth paste.
    • Add the brewed espresso and mix well.
  4. Combine:
    • Pour the heated soy milk into the mug and stir until fully combined.
  5. Garnish:
    • Top with vegan whipped cream and chocolate shavings or a dusting of cocoa powder, if desired.
