Vegan Mocha
Ingredients:
- 1 shot of espresso (or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee)
- 1 cup soy milk (or any plant-based milk)
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup or agave nectar
- Vegan whipped cream (optional)
- Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Espresso:
- Brew a shot of espresso or strong coffee and let it cool slightly.
- Heat the Milk:
- In a small saucepan, heat the soy milk until warm but not boiling.
- Mix the Mocha Base:
- In a mug, combine the cocoa powder and maple syrup. Stir to form a smooth paste.
- Add the brewed espresso and mix well.
- Combine:
- Pour the heated soy milk into the mug and stir until fully combined.
- Garnish:
- Top with vegan whipped cream and chocolate shavings or a dusting of cocoa powder, if desired.
